The Foston Turbine application S14/0539 is back please see link below

http://www.southkesteven.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=2230&ApplicationNumber=S14/0539

30th July 2014

Foston Turbine was withdrawn by the applicant and now the developer has started the consultation process which will be followed by the resubmission of the application.

Top Farm Turbine is back

with a new application number S14/0539

URGENT ACTION NEEDED NOW

The new application has some extra information added.

English Heritage and The National Trust have objected to the Top Farm Turbine.
The application has now been re-submitted as a slightly smaller turbine at
86.5 metres, this is still very tall and 5 times taller than Foston's Church.

IEP have confirmed they will be de-rating the 800kw turbine to 500kw which means
the turbine produces less power and Top Farm gain more money.

Info on tariffs below.

100kW but not exceeding 500kW 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015 14.82* p/kwh
500kW but not exceeding 1.5MW 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015   8.04* p/kwh

into account public opinion.

So we need as many letters as possible, one from each

member of your household please.

Start your objection with - I object to this application because -

Then, please choose reason 1 and put it in your own words and then choose
another 2 or 3 reasons below and email them to SKDC.

The current deadline is 15th May.

1, the turbine will be highly visible and would dominate the whole area affecting all
local heritage assets and will seriously harm the setting of Foston's Church of St Peter,
Bellmount Tower, Belvoir Castle, Long Bennington Church, Marston Church and Hougham Church.

2, The turbine will be highly visible when viewed from the Bellmount Tower and
Belvoir Castle.

3, Turbine will have an overpowering impact on the local villages.

4, The turbine will seriously harm Biodiversity Action Plan
(BAP) protected birds within the area.

5, The turbine is too big, it is 5 times taller than Foston's
Church of St Peter.

6, The turbine is so big it will have an overpowering impact on the visual amenity of all
the local villages.

7, The turbine will be unavoidable in the daily life of most if not all households in
Foston Marston Hougham and Long Bennington.

8, The turbine would be entirely inescapable whilst using the local amenities on
local playingfields.

9, Public rights of way would be seriously affected by the turbine including the
Viking Way and all circular walks

used by the villages and promoted by Lincolnshire County Council throughout the County
and the wider area.

10, The entire village of Foston is within 2 kilometres of the turbine site and most o
f the village is well within 1.5 kilometres of the turbine site the turbine is far too
close to all residential properties.

11,There is a reasonable expectation that a proportion of residents living within
2 kilometres of the turbine site will suffer problems with low frequency infrasound
produced by the turbine as it turns. This will put the entire village community at
risk which includes over 220 homes in Foston.

12, Wind turbines are extremely tall vertical industrial machines and should not be
imposed on  rural village landscapes.

Please make on-line representations and email as soon as possible.

The current deadline is 15th May.

I strongly oppose the planning application S13/1963 for a Wind Turbine hub height to blade tip 99.5 metres at Top Farm Foston because I am seriously concerned about the   effect it will have on:

1.  the setting of Heritage assets locally and in particular Belvoir Castle and the Belton Estate including the Bellmount Tower. (The Bellmount Tower is clearly seen from Foston.) Also list all the other local Churches: Foston Church of St Peter, Marston Church of St Mary, Long Bennington Church, Hougham Church, Westborough Church etc. Then add all the listed buildings you can think of.

2. the cumulative impact on the area with other similar developments locally including Allington and Hougham turbines. These can be easily seen from Foston and your property if applicable. There are several more applications in the area within 5 – 10 kilometres.

3. the damage to landscape character, and visual impact of the village. This development would urbanise the landscape and the village would be defined and characterised by the turbine which would be visible from as far away as Newark and probably Lincoln. The turbine would be equivalent to a 33 storey block of flats having 3 metres per storey.

4. the visual amenity of the village which is already blighted by the Frinkley Farm Turbine Hougham and Allington turbine.  Another one will increase the negative impact of the area and give rise to the village being defined by the turbines rather than the Village Church.

5. the amenity of the local footpaths and bridleways that are dotted all over the area and used by locals as well as visitors from all over the country.

6. the impact on the environment, the irreparable damage to the local eco-system. Effect on breeding birds, wintering birds and birds of prey. There are also migrating birds that fly over and feed in this area and some winter at Marston Sewage Farm, not mentioned in the application.
